Jinglemoon's paws thrummed beneath him though where they were taking him even he wasn't quite sure. He moved through the terrain of RiverClan's territory with surprising ease even at this speed, as though his paws were being guided by something unseen, something with extensive knowledge of every right spot to place a paw no matter how fast you were going. He never once slipped nor tripped despite never hesitating before springing or stepping, every move was with purpose. He might've noticed this miracle of luck had his mind actually been on where he was going but right now? Now that he wasn't facing his niece's hopefully face all of what had happened at that council meeting had come flooding back. Maybe he wasn't truly running anywhere in particular at all he was just running in hopes of escaping the fresh memory it made.

Eventually his paws would carry him to the edge of RiverClan territory, not to any of the sides that bordered their neighbours nor four trees but to the opposite end that bordered no one's land in particular, just up past where the Ash Glade was. Only once reaching here did he finally slow his pace as he approached the water that ran here too. Without looking around to see if any cat was around the medicine cat with frighteningly little hesitation would plunge his entire head under the water of the river's surface and just yell. Bubbles rushed from his maw and the water softened his cries to nothing more then mere muffled murmurs but that was the point, to not really be heard. Just like how he hadn't been back there in his den either.

Jinglemoon would only bring his head back up to gasp for air once it was desperately needed, coughing and spluttering all the while as water dripped from the fur of his chin and cheeks. He moved to plunge back under but paused when his ocean blues spotted something-- Or more someone across the river from him.

Riverclanners and Shadowclanners weren't the only ones tussling in the middle of the night. Alongside the heist of herbs there was an altercation between several groups and individuals a fair bit beyond the influence of the clans. Over what? Hard to say. Could have been anything. Prey, territory, relationships or grudges. The list went on.

The fight, however, did not. It couldn't. Ultimately the fight would end. The details? Hard to say. Could have been anything. Lives lost, mutual destruction, minimal injuries or maybe everyone ended up talking it out. The list went on. Now they were dispersing in whatever way they managed, the cats that fought, alive or not, harmed or not. They marched on.

One among them, perhaps the most imposing and intimidating, left that battle alone just as she had entered. She had a confident stride despite what had happened, but she made sure that it was steady. She had been in more than enough scrapes to know that overdoing it would not be beneficial. All that she needed to do was find somewhere calm, somewhere generally speaking, safe. At some point she found herself near a flowing body of water that had a partially toppled tree next to it that had been hollowed out who knows how long ago. By what? Hard to say. Could have been anything. Two-legs and their monsters, nature itself, some other animal or even some cats. The possibilities grew.

Satisfied with what she had found, the massive bimetallic fawn molly tried to clean her wounds the best she could before she chose to rest inside the hollowed out tree, which thankfully had enough room to fit her and maybe two other smaller cats. It was here that she allowed herself to rest, away from the fight she was able to walk away from...

It took a while, but eventually the scent and sound of another cat could be heard. Relaxing just outside of her hollowed out little makeshift den the massive bimetallic fawn molly witnessed... Perhaps the strangest act she had seen in a long while. How long? Hard to say. But there was barely any stranger an action.

"Heh, izzat a fishin' technique a'yours?" She snickered. "Soooo... Does it work, or...?" Hm. Hard to say.

For a few heartbeats Jinglemoon simply stared across the water at the other cat, water dripping down the fur on his face and rippling across the surface of the calm river below. Eventually he'd realize he was staring and would quickly shake himself, trying to free his pelt of some of the water he had just drenched himself with, the tips of his ears growing hot with embarrassment knowing some cat had just seen him dunk his head under the river like that. At least it hadn't been a clanmate...

"N-no" He admitted, his tail flicking self-consciously as he scuffed at the ground with his paws. He had needed to yell and getting it out in the water had made him feel better but now he just felt stupid. "Unless you want to scare the fish downstream to some other cat waiting maybe?" He had no idea when it came to hunting fish though and was sure he was just making himself sound even dumber then he looked with his face all mopping wet. He scented the air now that his head was being kept out of the water though and the sharp tang of blood reached him even from across the river, probably because he had gotten so used to picking up on it by this point. He wasn't sure who this molly was but she was injured and the injury was recent too, despite this she looked quite relaxed where she was. Did she even realize how close to Clan territory she was? ... Did she even know what a clan was?

Glancing over his shoulder briefly to check for if any of his clanmates had followed him, Jinglemoon would gaze back at the massive fawn molly when he was certain that they were in fact alone. "You weren't attacked by any cat over this side of the river, were you?" He hoped no one in RiverClan would've done so-- She was clearly not a ShadowClan cat by scent alone but she was near their border, had she been chased off? He realized that her injuries might be a sore spot to bring up to someone who was a complete stranger. "Oh- S-sorry! I don't mean to draw attention to-- I'm a healer y'see? So I thought I could smell blood and- I thought maybe- Uh." He was usually a lot better with his words... It was surely just the thought of that council meeting that was throwing him off still, it was hard to think straight after that mess. He had half a mind to just scurry on back to camp since he'd already embarrassed himself enough but his paws would not let him leave this cat here injured and all alone without at least offering to help first.

With a snicker, the injured she-cat raised a brow. "Rrrreally?" She had no idea what the true reason was for his... 'Unorthodox fishing style', so all she had to go with was trying to be funny. "If it wasn't a hunting tactic, why are you trying to justify it as one?" She asked, both as a humorous jab and out of curiosity. "You can't do that alone though, can you?" It didn't seem like there were any other cats nearby, and she herself wasn't in any condition to properly help, straining her injuries wasn't on her to do list.

"Hm?" Jeez, did she really look that messed up? For her, this was pretty normal. Did this tom have some sort of sense for it? Huh. Interesting, if true. "Over your side? Nah. We're all from back that way." She gestured behind her, and more towards the old shipyard of all places.

Why was this guy fumbling over his words? It was both kind of funny and a little embarrassing but in a strangely endearing way. "Haha! Don't worry about it. I don't care." She saw no reason to get uppity or defensive about having been in a fight. It was what happened, there was no point in hiding it. "Healer..?" Both an interesting and outlandish thing to say, but there were cats out there that had experience in, well, not dying, and she was one of them. She knew how to clean wounds and the practical use of cobwebs, moss and sticks, and what plants to generally avoid but that was about it. "You gonna finish your sentence, healerboy softpaws, or am I gonna needa do that for ya?" She smirked, wondering how the tom across the water was gonna take that. "Just relax, think it through and take your time. Ain't like I'm going anywhere."

"Hey, you're the one who insinuated it could be a fishing technique first" He retorted his tail flicking at her jab. "It would probably require at least two cats to work... Probably more even" It still probably wasn't even a good technique if a real one at all though. He wasn't exactly the best hunter after all.

"We're?" Jinglemoon gave a confused tilt of his head as if trying to see if there were any other cat behind the large molly, but she certainly seemed to be here alone aside from his own company. "There are others with you then?" Curiously the way she gestured seemed back towards the old shipyard place that RiverClan had come from. What were the chances she knew of any cat here now that had been from there though?

Thankfully she wasn't at all bothered by her injuries being noticed or at least expressed as much outwardly. "Healer, medicine cat, whatever you wanna call me--" And then 'healerboy softpaws' came out her maw. "N-nevermind, I take that back... Jinglemoon. My name's Jinglemoon" He sighed though before continuing, trying to re-think on what he had been trying to say before he lost it earlier. "I thought that maybe- If you'd allow it, I could swim over and patch you up?" He probably shouldn't do so. RiverClan needed all the herbs it could get right now but still even now he couldn't help himself from wanting to help others, even those not a part of the same clan-- Or any clan at all for that matter. All he knew was that this cat had been injured and he had the knowledge to do something about it to help. So why wouldn't he at least offer?

"You're the one humoring me, genius." She snickered and offered a wink. Ah, the jovial sort with a shameless sense of humor then?. "Odds are it won't work too well, not without proper coordination. There's better ways to do it." She, on the other hand, did have experience in hunting— and clearly fighting as well. "S'best not to waste energy with pointless motions or movements, y'see." Must be why she was sitting quietly in a safe space herself all things considered.

This fella sure seemed jumpy given how he asked if other cats were nearby. The grandiose molly shook her head. "Nope, haven't been for a good pawful of moons. S'just me." She didn't seem... Sad about that per se, but there was an unmistakable weight behind her words, like it was 'for the best' from some unclear perspective. "Had a home over there'abouts for a good while. Whole crew'a cats til' my family wanted to lighten the load by venturin' out." She said, her gaze unmistakably looking towards the shipyard's direction now. "So, was my two dads, my pair 'a siblings and 'bout three others then, til we went our separate ways. They kept goin' and I came back this way. Just had a feelin' I should come back this way, hard t'explain."

She couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction to what she called him, she had to admit that 'healerboy softpaws' was incredibly silly, thats why it was funny! "Jinglemoon, hm?" Well, it did suit him, but... "Could be cuter, but it works." Wait, what? "I'm Dagger." She moved on immediately to introducing herself and answering his further inquiry. Even if she was injured she could probably box his ears easily if he wasn't really altruistic, but he had this sort of vibe about him that made her feel safe, it was weird. Besides that, his scent, it was of a cat that lived with others, lots of others... It was different, but it too, was familiar.

To say that Dagger was simply curious would be a gargantuan understatement. "Sure, I could use some help if you can spare it, beats nursing injuries myself."

MEDICINE CAT

The medicine cat would snort and flick his tail back and forth when the other cat snickered at him. "There are much better ways-- And ways that are much less likely to get you sick from having stuck your head under the water too I'm sure" He muttered, the fur on his face still slick with river water.

The blue tabby tom listened as the lone molly explained that she was here alone just that there had been others before. When she looked off in the direction of where RiverClan had originally come from Jinglemoon's whiskers would twitch "Do you mean off towards the shipyard place?" It sure seemed like she had been meaning that direction but he had to be sure. He tilted his head a little to the side when she mentioned she had come back this way based on a feeling she couldn't quite explain, he had felt rather similar when he had first joined the group of cats that later became the RiverClan he knew today. He could still remember what that feeling felt like.

Jinglemoon would look around cautiously, checking back the way he had come to make sure no cat had followed him or happened to be out this way. Once sure he was in the clear he would slip down into the river and paddle across to the other side, despite his lack in fishing knowledge he did seem to be quite the confident swimmer! Making it to the other side in no time at all and shaking out his pelt once safely on hard ground again. "Or just 'Jingle' is fine too if you prefer that" It had slipped his mind that the clan names might be a bit different to what most cats would expect when it came to names, he had gotten so used to it by now. "Thanks-- Wait, wh-what?" Could be cuter? What did that mean? What did she mean by that? What was that supposed to mean? The curled tips of his ears started to feel rather warm despite having just swam across the cool water and his whiskers would twitch curiously but he tried to shrug it off, he must've just misheard her.

"Dagger?" He repeated with a raised brow, "Like that sharp twoleg object? Hm" He could imagine a few ways she could've earnt such a name... "How'd you end up with that name? Are your claws especially long?" He admittedly avoided the part where she mentioned she could use some help if he could spare it, all he heard was that she could use some help so whether or not he could spare it or not didn't matter, he was going to help!

"How did you get these injuries?" He asked now that he was close enough to get a good look at them it did seem as though she had been in a fight of some kind. Depending on what or who had attacked her there was usually a risk of infection with battle wounds and her injuries were looking a lot similar to those his clanmates had sustained at the night of the heist... Though hers seemed less severe at best. Jinglemoon would pad along the bank of the river for a few moments before collecting some moss in his jaws, dipping it in the water as it raced past for a few heartbeats before returning to Dagger's side and applying the damp moss to the worst injury he could find with how she was currently laying. "Apologies for any stinging, does any place in particular hurt the worst?"

"Yeah, but none of them are nearly as funny." Plus if anyone got sick from it, couldn't he help them get better with his supposed softpawed healerboy talents? He guessed right when he brought up the shipyard, so Dagger nodded. "Mhm, that's right." She didn't feel like she needed to be specific about it actually being the shipyard that she was talking about, if he figured it out he figured it out.

For a cat that screamed at water, this Jinglemoon was a pretty solid swimmer. Dagger wondered where he might have learned it since he didn't seem like a particularly 'wild' sort of cat, at least not completely. There was something else to him that seemed softer. Was that part of why he claimed to have proficiency in medicine? "Pfft, it's your name, you get to say what you prefer." Dagger smirked, intending on being silly about a nickname if she figured out a fun one. "You're welcome." she added, choosing not to elaborate any further.

"Dagger, yeah. Their attempt at replicating our mighty claws." Being a rather large and rugged kind of cat herself, it was probably no surprise that she took such a fearsome name. There was clearly a reason for it, but there was also more to her than that- it was present in how she spoke. She turned over one paw and slowly showed her claws, to no surprise, they were sharp and well looked after. "You could say that's part of it." With a shrug she put her claws away and allowed Jinglemoon to approach properly.

How she got her current injuries on the other hand, she was more open to talk about. "Oh you know, a fight broke out, was pretty gnarly. Quite a few cats, all sorts of grudges and whatnot. For the most part I just happened to be there. Wasn't my problem until some of 'em chose to involve some young'ns that can barely unsheathe their claws let alone fight. Don't worry about them though, I made sure they weren't harmed." As Jinglemoon went to work, Dagger winced but took it in stride, clearly used to the aftermath of a battle. She gestured to a strike across her left."I think that one hurts the worst. Heh, and if you reckon what I'm dealing with is serious, you should see the other guy."

Jinglemoon would make a face when she pointed out that other methods of fishing weren't nearly as funny as the one he displayed earlier. He had a feeling this would be a running joke between them-- Or at least it would be if she stuck around RiverClan territory... Or maybe even joined the clan itself? Would his clanmates really accept a new face right now though? So soon after the wounds left by ShadowClan... He was sure most of them would be far too cautious and distrustful right now. He'd probably be called a fool if any of them found out about this encounter in general. Dagger was big enough to probably snap him in half like a twig under paw if she wanted to. "Interesting. Some of my clanmates and I also came from that area, before settling here." Maybe she knew of some of them? He had been late to joining the shipyard cats by comparison to most his other clanmates but he wouldn't mention the kittypet origin he had before it.

"B-but you just said-?" He looked as confused as he felt, this molly perplexed him. The blue tabby would shake his head to clear his mind of the racing thoughts, deciding to just believe he had misheard her.

'Their attempt at replicating our mighty claws' A smile would curl it's way on to the medicine cat's muzzle. Twolegs did seem to lack the powerful claws cats had so it made sense they would need to try and replicate that sharpness, how else were they supposed to catch and eat prey? "Mighty indeed" He'd agree as she showed off one set of claws-- They were impressive of course, especially because they matched the rest of her in size, so they were much bigger then his own claws. His own weren't too bad but they were no warriors weapons either. Dagger might be injured but he was certain that wouldn't stop her from wounding him or worse if she turned out to be not as friendly as she seemed. He swallowed that fear though and pressed onward, it was his duty to heal others and she was injured. However, he wouldn't press more on her name origin as she didn't seem as open to talking about it.

She was much more open on how she got to be injured though and he'd listen intently as she answered. Jinglemoon thought it was admirable how she went out of her way to make sure the younger cats who'd been involved in this situation remained safe. He'd give her an apologetic but comforting smile each time she winced but Dagger didn't flinch or complain, he worried that this was because she was used to being hurt. No cat deserved to be so familiar with pain that it no longer hurt. She'd not reached that point quite yet but still he worried.

Jinglemoon would focus his attention to the strike across her left side once she pointed that one out as being the one that hurt most. She played it off though, mentioning about how he ought to see the other guy-- He had no doubt that they were in much worse shape then she was since she had gotten to walk away and settle herself down someplace nice to recover. Not everycat was so lucky after a fight that resulted in injury. "You're not out of the woods yet yourself though either, last thing we'd want happening to this is for it to get infected because it wasn't treated properly. Then you'd have to fight another battle and not one you can win with claws and teeth"

He thought about her answer and there were still a lot of questions swimming in his head around it all, he wasn't sure which ones would be the best to ask though or which ones might be pushing it. "Are you going to head back that way? Once you're healed up" The question tumbled out before he could really think on it much further but somehow, out of all the questions it was the one he wanted to know the answer to the most. Why? He wasn't even sure of that himself. Maybe he just enjoyed her company? Wanted her to have the chance to join a more stable and safe way of living? Was RiverClan really all that safer though? "Uhh actually-- Apologies, that's probably not for me to know" He tried to push the thoughts out of his head and focus on the work he was doing right in front of him. He needed a poultice and something to wrap that poultice with to secure it to the wound...

Dagger snickered lightly at Jinglemoon's reaction. "C'mon, relax. Life is more fun if you can take a sec to laugh at something silly." It was also better when you tried to find joy even in the darkest times, this much Dagger knew all too well. "Clanmates? Heh, fancy word for a colony. Sounds good though. Sounds... Nice." It felt as though it had more meaning, more solidity to it in a way Dagger couldn't quite explain. "There's at least some chance I know some of 'em if they were Shipyarders prior." A lot of cats made that place home, she had a hard time imagining all of them went the same way as each other. "I don't recall you though. Are'ye from somewhere else then?"

She raised a brow at Jinglemoon with a smile. He looked as confused as he sounded. "Just said what? I've said quite a few things."

Noticing Jinglemoons apologetic smile while she recounted events, she relaxed slightly more. As chill as she was, the unconditional kindness of another held its own magic to it. "I don't think I need to be worried, I'm sure you'll treat these injuries of mine properly." He did seem quite determined to do so, so she believed in him.

Dagger looked out and back into the direction of the shipyard as Jinglemoon asked if she had any plans on where to go after she recovered. "Hm.." She wasn't too sure. Nobody she knew, or rather, knew particularly well, was hanging around out there at the moment. Jinglemoon awkwardly attempted to retract his question, and Dagger looked at him strangely. "Why're you apologizing?" She seemed more annoyed that he was saying sorry over what he chose to ask initially. "Heh. Maybe I'll stick around, just to bug you specifically."
