I'm a young soul in this very strange world
Hoping I could learn a bit 'bout what is true and fake
But why all this hate? Try to communicate
Finding trust and love is not always easy to make

.

She knew. Finally... Finally she knew. But for this, for this, she needed the skilled paws of someone above ground. And who better than her dear friend, Hollowmumble? Ever the happy listener. Ever the soft-eyed, steady soul who never minded when Weaselchirp yapped and rambled her heart out.

Now her paws carried her across the moor, dirt still clinging to her wiry fur, the fresh scent of tunnels in every breath. Her bright orange eyes were wide with purpose, nearly glowing in the light as she trotted along. And only when Hollowmumble came into view did she stop, just inches away from her, noses nearly touching, her skrunkly whiskers trembling with excitement. " I've decided, I need your help. " she announced, breathless, as if Hollowmumble had been part of the conversation all along. " See, I dig. I dig dig dig all day. There's so much digging, so much finding to be done. Warm places, safe places, hidden little dreams just beneath our paws! " She leaned in closer, her voice dipping with urgency. " But I do not find the gift. " Her ears twitched. She began to pace a little, tail flicking.

" Many gifts, yes, I find those, little bones, shiny beetle shells, a worm with a twist at the end like a question mark! But not the gift. Not the one I need. " She paused dramatically, locking eyes with Hollowmumble. " My anniversary with Pumpkinspice is coming up… and I need a gift worthy of the warmth she gives me. She is... She is... " her voice lifted, dreamy and adoring. "Sun-kissed! Like she was blessed by the sky itself. A beauty to behold, the very sun, walking among us. " She gave a fond, fluttery sigh. " I need… a sun-kissed stone. Something golden. Something glowing. Something to compliment her. But I find none underground. There is no sun down there, only the night. Only the quiet. Only… me. "

Her gaze softened. " I need you, Hollow. To help me find it. A sun-kissed stone. Something the earth above has saved just for her. "

Hollowmumble blinked at her companion, taken aback at being approached so out of the blue. She was just preparing to go out on her own, stepping out of camp, paws ready to run across the lush mooreland in search of rabbits and mice for the barn clan cats to feed upon when Weaselchirp appeared not even an inch away from her nose. Large ears perked up, she could smell the dirt still fresh on her, clearly having just returned from the tunnels. Hollowmumble tuned into her words, listening to her ramble, patiently waiting for her to reach her point.

Hollowmumble's face softened as Weaselchirp spoke of her upcoming anniversary, how she needed to find the perfect gift for her beloved, practically speaking in poetry about Pumpkinspice. She let her continue, not wanting to interupt her passionate swooning.

"I don't know what a sun-kissed stone is," Hollowmumble replied, "but I can try my best to help you find something for her." She supposed she wouldn't be hunting today. How easy it would be to find a 'sun-kissed stone' was unknown to her, they could find it within an hour, or it might take until sunset. There was only one way to find out. A place with pretty stones, a place with pretty stones...

Backing up a couple pawsteps, she spoke again, "Maybe we could try and find a pond, or stream? Surely there might be some there..."
