It was a good day to be out and about. The weather was cold, of course, and snow lay thick upon the forest, but the sun was bright and the temperature seemed to have inched up a few degrees. Moreover, Blizzardblaze was pleasurably occupied doing the job he loved to do - and getting to do so in excellent company. The small black-and-white tomcat was humming a little under his breath as he trotted briskly along a well-trodden path. He was, in particular, looking for sturdy pieces of vegetation today; some of the dens were a little patchy-looking for his taste, and he couldn't help but wonder if a little extra reinforcement would help keep the chill at bay. Naturally, if a little scurrying, scampering, or fluttering thing happened to catch his eye...well, that'd be alright, too. No opportunity to hunt could be neglected, not now that leaf-bare had truly begun.

Catching sight of a robust-looking vine, Blizzardblaze slowed to a stop and began to investigate, testing its strength with his teeth and claws, pale eyes narrowing thoughtfully. It was good and thick, but possibly too thick - he wasn't sure if he'd be able to wind it into the existing framework. "Brindlefeather, what do you think? Too thick to weave in or no?" He had no doubt that his friend would understand what he meant - Brindlefeather was an accomplished forager and was especially gifted at creative projects, at least in Blizzardblaze's opinion. He held the other warrior in quite high esteem and was grateful for the friendship they'd formed - even if he had, at times, wondered what it would've been like if it was something more.

BRINDLEFEATHER ──
thunderclan | forager
Brindlefeather makes a quick pass through the territory most days, with leaf-bare holding no exceptions, but being able to do so with a friend is a rare treat. Of course, while he considers most of his Clanmates to be his friends, there are a few in particular that he gets along with the best, and Blizzardblaze is one of them. His head bobs slightly in time with the tune of the other forager's humming, and his tail swishes just above the snow, big and bushy as ever with his leaf-bare coat of fur.

The ginger tom watches as Blizzardblaze inspects the vine, and he thinks for a moment. It definitely seems a bit thick... might be best for heavier reinforcements or updates... He steps up to it, grabbing at it with one paw to get a feel for how well it pulls against the tree it clings to. He's surprised it's managed to stay so healthy amidst the unrelenting chill of the snow.
"This is a great find! I'm glad I brought you along, Blizzardblaze." He smiles warmly at his companion before turning back to the vine. "The thickness might make it hard to weave into a more complex place, so probably not ideal for walls, but the structure of it makes me feel like it could hold up very well as an addition to an entryway, whether that be the entrance to a den or to the camp itself. Maybe we could wrap some extra material around it as well for extra insulation, that way if we get any snowstorms it would help block the cold from coming in through the entrance." Perhaps the entryway to camp would be the better option, or perhaps the nursery since it could always stand to be safer for the kitten's sakes. "Maybe if it lasts through the season, we could decorate it with lots of little flowers come newleaf, too! Oh, that'd be so pretty. I'm sure even Loonstar would love it."
maybe we'll turn it all around 'cuz it's not too late

Blizzardblaze listened closely to Brindlefeather as the mottled forager offered his opinion on the vine, nodding thoughtfully. "Good call. You know, more reinforcement around the top of the ravine wouldn't be a bad idea, especially with the snow and all. The weight of it can pull things down, collapse some of our defenses..." The small bicolor's mind was preparing to wander down a fortifications-forward path when Brindlefeather's thoughts on decoration brought him back to the present. Blizzardblaze grinned and tried to bump one muscular shoulder against his friend's, fondness apparent in his pale eyes. "You're always thinking of things like that. I don't know how you think of all the creative things you do. I don't really think that way, I don't think." It was obvious from his tone that he wasn't being self-critical more than appreciative of his fellow forager's creativity - and bemused at how different cats' minds worked. The black-and-white warrior lowered his head and began to gnaw at the vine, hoping to dislodge it from the trunk it had grown around, speaking through a mouthful of frosty vegetation. "I'd love to cheer Loonsfar up. If seems like she's been having a hard fime lately." Blizzardblaze spat out a chunk of chewed-off plant matter and wrinkled his nose. "Eugh. I don't know how any creature can eat plants and stuff. It's gross."
