Open RC RIVERCLAN SHP "AUDITION"

Hello and welcome to RiverClan's semi-high position auditions thread! This thread takes the place of an "s/HP consent form", as we'd like to keep rolling auditions available as plots evolve and activity shifts. Life guards work in collaboration with Riverclan's leader and deputy to provide strategic guidance, define standards (how the clan should interact with others and those within their ranks), hold one another accountable, and resolve conflict.

Pikestar is looking for capable warriors to add to his council. Cats who have previously mentored at least one apprentice to warriorhood or are in the process of training one are going to be looked upon more favorably than cats who have not. That does not mean cats who are not currently mentoring an apprentice will not be considered (you may still apply if you haven't had an apprentice yet!).

We are looking for characters that keep up with the flow of the clan, with lots of great OOC activity as well! We want to see you in the Discord, whether it's casually interacting and offering your character for little plots as well as bigger ones or directing others to resources (guides/news/census). It's good to be seen in everyday clan life beyond just overarching story arcs.

Life Guards are expected to encourage activity by being open, friendly, and consistent throughout their tenure of the council. They will also be expected to host patrols, assign every-day tasks, and hold smaller events. Ultimately, this "audition" gives our team the permission to view your character as a viable option to pick for the council, as we do not want to force anybody in a position they would not be comfortable with holding for one reason or another. Please let one of the RiverClan HP team know if you have any questions regarding this process.

Name: willowburn
Length of term wanted: preferably long but open to plot-relevant
IC reasons: willowburn has always been a very caring cat, looking after her niblings, as well as the younger cats in the shipyard, and thus has shown she cares about the safety of those who might not be able to speak for themselves. she is a more soothing voice of reason within the clan, although while she is an advocate for negotiation, she is not hesitant to fight for her clan. she has proven herself to be dependable in stressful situations. she is prone to emotion when dealing with personal situations, but it is something she has continued to work on, and something that could provide a fun plot. she is never fearful to speak up in disagreement and holds her clan in high regard. she would be a just and loyal council member, and would be mainly concerned with making sure things are moral and doing the right thing. willowburn is also very invested in the young life of riverclan. due to her time in the nursery and generally caring disposition, she takes a great interest in keeping up with the training of apprentices and the learning of kits. she has proven herself to be a trustworthy warrior and friend of pikestar. she appreciates his cheerful nature and has often been the cooler head to his optimism. ultimately, she trusts him with her life, and knows he trusts her with his own. her loyalty is as strong as steel, unwavering, but she is also willing and able to question decisions, and find logic in the council's choices.
OOC thoughts: i am in the process of returning to full activity with willow, and would love for her name to be out there for the future! i have experience with council duties, as well as hp duties on other sites. i am excited for her to be consitered!
Any fun plots you might want to do: interested in her exploring her love for teaching, as she's taken on two apprentices. possibly a task given to her as a sort of overseer of training?​

Name: WAVESONG
Length of term wanted (short/long/plot-relevant): Very much open to long term, but totally here too for plot relevant!
IC reason why Pikestar might pick your character: 1. Deep loyalty and dedication to RiverClan. Wavesong's love for her Clan runs deeper than the river itself. She's proven time and time again that she'll put RiverClan's wellbeing before her own.
2. A Natural mentor and nurturer. Even before her time in the nursery, Wavesong has shown herself to be a patient, wise, and compassionate teacher. She helped mentor Galepaw before her pregnancy, and her involvement with apprentices and kits alike shows her steady ability to guide.
3. A voice of empathy and balance. Wavesong listens. She's not one to leap to conclusions or act on impulse, instead, she considers all sides before speaking, and when she does, it's with thoughtfulness and care.
4. Experience Weathering Loss and Hardship. Having faced great personal loss, the situation of her mate, the loss of kits, the uncertainty of those she's loved — Wavesong has proven her resilience. Rather than let grief consume her, she's turned that pain into strength and compassion
5. A strong connection to the river and StarClan. Wavesong carries the river in her very being, gentle but unyielding, capable of healing or of carving new paths. Her spiritual awareness, her respect for the waters and for StarClan's will, give her insights that balance the practical with the spiritual.
6. Respected among her clanmates. Wavesong is well-liked and trusted. Her peers often turn to her for comfort or counsel, and younger cats look up to her as a model of what it means to be both kind and capable.
7. Still active and dedicated despite motherhood. Even as a queen and mother of six, she's never allowed herself to grow distant from her duties. She returns to patrols, helps organize efforts, and contributes to the Clan's strength in any way she can.
8. Calm in crisis, steady in storms. When others panic, Wavesong remains composed. She's shown time and again that she can handle emergencies.
Any fun plots you might want to do: I am EMPTY rn but I wave this girl around, I want her to be more active in her own clan like I intended for her to be! She also has aletheia, maybe can work on a nice lil plot with that who knows?

IC reason why Pikestar might pick your character:

• Has acted in the past as a voice of reason/ stood on Pikestar's side when tensions were high with the council
• Usually level-headed and tries to reason with other cats within and outside the clans
• Nepotism cause of Foxtail /j/j/j
• Generally, a hard-working and passionate member of the clan, fights for the safety and maintenance of the clan and does her fair share and above for Riverclan

Any fun plots you might want to do:

• SUNNINGROCKS BELONGS TO RIVERCLAN!! She's very vehement in her dislike of Thunderclan and the idea they're wasting sunningrocks for lazy and selfish reasons rather than using them to hunt and would be the first to fight for those god damn rocks
• Has an ongoing plot with Brightnose of Skyclan as they're in a short-term relationship until newleaf, which could result in tensions (but also it's been agreed coyote and bright would exchange news, gossip and secrets, so could result in information about either clan being leaked (to both leaders' discretion, anything of that sort would be discussed first!!))
• while not expressly antagonistic, she could very much be used as the tipping point for being more on the offensive than defensive, especially as she still has gripes with Shadowclan following the raid, devil's advocate almost

I'll come back to add more in time, but I wanted to beam this here while it was still on my mind :3

Name: @pebbledream.
Length of term wanted (short/long/plot-relevant): long (but also open to short or plot-relevant!!)
IC reason why Pikestar might pick your character: Pebbledream is very much an always-obedient knight. They may voice their own opinions or disagreement for the sake of consideration, but to them, Pikestar's word is final, and they will do anything he asks of them regardless of whether they think it is right or not. They also have a very rigid schedule in which they perform several tasks on behalf of the Clan every day (wake up at dawn to hunt, offer to take on extra work/join extra patrols, etc), they're a big workaholic which may prove to be a useful trait for a member of Pikestar's council.
Any fun plots you might want to do: still brainstorming, will update this post with ideas ^w^

Name: Shimmerstone
Length of term wanted (short/long/plot-relevant): any of them are fine! I could be open to mixing them too (short term/plot-relevant term and then a demotion due to something only to earn it back later and having a longer term for example!)
IC reason why Pikestar might pick your character:
- She's been there since the beginning, Pikestar's known her since she was a kit, she's one of the ones that have essentially grown up as a clan member instead of a shipyard cat, but still knows how difficult the journey was on them from first-hand experience! She's been through a whole apprenticeship's worth of training and knows the values of the clan - or as much as all of them could know currently with how new they still are - and is unafraid to voice her opinion to those above her, whether she's within their ranks or not. She's a little hot-headed and stubborn but she still understands the nuances of the rules, and knows it's best not to break them unless for dire reason, has been through a LOT and come through and survived it, as well as has helped to discover new areas of the territory and could hopefully try to help discover more stuff in the future whether it be territory or new rules that could benefit them.
Any fun plots you might want to do:
- She can always be a voice of tension amongst the council later on, she's a fighter and with winter coming up - whether she'd be within the council then or not - she'd vouch for potentially claiming more territory for RiverClan to hunt in due to how hard it is to fish in the cold, how the fish are deeper in the water, and how many cats could potentially get sick
- more plots to come, will write them here as I think of them

Name: Smokewreath
Length of term wanted (short/long/plot-relevant): Either (what if I make you fire another guy you argued with who then killed you in a public display teehee -twirls my hair-)
IC reason why Pikestar might pick your character: Quite the contrast to his sister, Smokewreath is a lot more stoic and guarded, colder in demeanor but not quite as uptight as he used to be. He has proven to be a reliable and loyal figure in RiverClan's formation and continued existence despite wanting to constantly to shake Pikestar by the scruff. He was probably one of the first to be staunchly StarClan devoted (seeing them briefly helped a lot as well as Pike coming back to life) and is fiercely defensive of RiverClan above all else.
Any fun plots you might want to do:
