The Skyclan border isn't far, and soon enough they're walking along the edge of the river. He keeps an eye on the other side, looking out for any Skyclan cats– he'd yet to meet any of them, but from what he'd heard from Frostmoth they were… peculiar, though not unkind. The smell of pine and sap is strong, and he supposes that's why he notices just a moment too late the scent of fox. He halts immediately, raising his tail as a signal to stop, before dropping into a low crouch, hoping the others understand his message. Danger ahead.
He creeps forward slowly, hidden partially by the reeds, until he spots a fox kit playing on the riverbank. Though it's only a kit, his shoulders stay tensed up.
"Fox kit," he murmurs. "Don't move. We have to know if its mother is nearby, and if she is– chase her off. I will not have foxes running around our territory with new kits in the nursery."

if you want, you can roll a d20 and see if you alert the fox or not– above 10 your cat is stealthy, under 10 and you catch it's attention.
