Moonkit watches her brother from the shadow of the nursery. Her mother and the other caregivers had gotten tired of her loafing around the den, and had all but shooed her out. Their paws are full watching the younger kits, the ones who still huddle to their mothers' sides for warmth from sunrise to sunset. She is four moons old now, and in just two more moons she will be an apprentice. It is silly that she still hides in the nursery all day, and she knows it.
Sunkit follows the schedule of his namesake. She would not have known it just from looking at him, he is still running about as though he has just been let out of the den. Moonkit feels exhausted just watching him. A smile ghosts across her face as she sees him run up to one of the warriors, imagining the barrage of questions he's asking. There is no question in her mind that he will be a wonderful warrior one day. He is just so filled with life and energy that her day fells a little brighter just by standing near him. If he put all of that into his training, there is no way he could fail.
