Welcome to RiverClan's assignment hub! Here will be our headquarters for all things "mentorship", with the main priority being pair assignments. See below for additional information and services.
Characters will randomly be assigned by Pikestar without confirmation of the pair unless otherwise requested. If you are hoping for a specific pairing, please let velou know through the discord!

Frostmoth — He probably will not be a good mentor to whoever he gets paired with but he will try his best anyway ; high activity
Dogflicker — Will be a bit of a hard-ass mentor, isn't very tolerable of pranksters, and is the type to use work as a punishment first. Apprentices under Dogflicker will excel at fighting, be above average in fishing, and poor with land hunting. She will not preach/push for them to believe in StarClan. She will be a stickler to rules and only give praise when her apprentice does something extraordinary, not when meeting basic expectations ; flexible - MITSKIPAW — if you need to be mean be mean to her

When it comes to assessments, Pikestar has a vague idea of what makes an apprentice warrior material as opposed to one in need of training. Given the current state of Riverclan, he will test apprentices for the following skills: hunting capability, the ability to defend oneself, decisiveness and critical thinking under pressure, and the ability to swim. Assessments have some form of uniformity, only fluctuating when it comes to testing decisiveness.
Uniform assessments such as hunting, self-defense, and swimming are evaluated in the following ways: Hunting ability is tested by having apprentices catch one fish and one land-based prey. Self-defense is tested by having two warriors (typically their mentor and one trusted warrior) spar with an apprentice. Spars end by an apprentice landing a single strike on a warrior, or when a warrior subdues an apprentice. Apprentices only need to defeat one warrior to pass. Swimming is tested by having apprentices swim upstream the river from Sunset Meadow to the Sunningrocks area (apprentices will not cross into Thunderclan territory. They will either clamber onto the stepping stones or return to land), where three warriors (typically their mentor and two trusted warriors) will follow along land ready to jump in and save apprentices if they require assistance.
Non-uniform assessments such as for testing decisiveness and critical thinking under pressure, Pikestar attempts to create personalized scenarios for each apprentice, tailored to target their deepest fears and strengths. By all accounts this is the most brutal assessment, but it is done to prepare to-be warriors for the cruelties of the world.
As RiverClan develops and grows along Pikestar, assessments and their requirements are subject to change.
Success and failure of apprentices are always up to the roleplayer of the mentor and apprentice! Assessments can be an amazing place for development, such as and not excluding: late graduations due to failing one aspect of assessments continuously, early graduations that shouldn't have happened, conflict between apprentices and mentors for failing assessments, etc! Assessments are also a perfect opportunity for Pikestar to choose a warrior's name based on their attitude, prowess in a skill, or any remarkable attributes he notices.
